Character: Trillinda

Once again, my friend Michelle has honoured me with a drawing of one of my characters. And this time she coloured it in too!

Michelle described Trill as being ‘a little off her rocker’, but I disagree. I see Trill as being firmly on her rocker, with that rocker being how she divides and categorises everything in the world. Trill sees the world in a very clear way, in black and white without many shades of grey, and when situations swing from one side of her rocker to the other, she can seem a little bipolar.

But Trill’s ‘rocker’ of viewpoints doesn’t always align with the majority of society. It’s split rather like this:

  • Good vs Evil
  • Right vs Wrong
  • Fire vs Not Fire
  • Me vs Them

With her affinity for fire, Trilll also behaves a bit like her element. She hates being wet, hates being cold and doesn’t half-do anything. If she decided to take action, she goes all the way, if she doesn’t then she just doesn’t. She’s an all-or-nothing sort of character. Yet, for a persistent non-urgent thing she will smoulder along until breaking point.

And by breaking point, I mean ‘making the world better’ by increasing the amount of fire immediately present.

I get an award?

Author: User Imageadmin (Who am I?)  //  Category: Uncategorized

brilliant

Hmm, I won an award. That must mean I’ve done something clever. Lucent Dusk must think so anyway.

Lucent Dust is a regular Entrecard dropper, which is where most of you reading this will have come from too. I feel flattered that somebody out there actually likes these words of mine, because after all that’s what I write for.

But it’s not a free lunch. There’s a handful of standard rules that go along with this award.

  • You may display the award on your blog.
  • Add a link to the person who presented you the award.
  • Nominate up to seven other blogs.
  • Add their links to your blog.
  • Let those you nominated know they won!

So to play by the rules, here’s a handful of some favourite blogs for this week.

In Shadows is an Etsy Artist’s blog. I like her organ jewelry and am patiently awaiting my purchase in the mail. I only wish she’d post more about her own creations when she ads them to her shop.

How is Bradley is another blog that I read casually but have never yet commented on. He’s already won this award once, but I’m sure he wont mind having another one.

My third choice is Saving Moki. I can’t help being pulled along by this blog and the story of a sick but persistant cat and his determined owners.

I think three is enough off the top of my head. These awards get around to everybody eventually, so don’t be concerned if I forgot you after seven hours of lectures on a monday afternoon.

Water spirit concept art

Author: User Imageadmin (Who am I?)  //  Category: Uncategorized

Here’s more concept art, for a water spirit this time. There are two versions, one with a background and one without. Using a background makes it easier to hide my mistakes, but sometimes I think it detracts from the picture.

Using no background on the other hand gives a clearer impression of the creature.
