Wanted: Proof-readers and editors

May 4th, 2009 by admin (Who am I?)

Are there any kind souls out there that feel like reading half a book and marking any spelling errors, or sentences that don’t make sense, or general feedback?

I’m getting to a point where I need to know if I’m going in the right direction or not, and I dont wish to thrust all my work into the public domain.

So is there someone that feels like reading a chapter or two? I don’t mind reading and editing a piece in return.

Here’s some previously published snippets to (hopefully) tempt someone.

The start: Is that a dragon?

A bit later: The Storm

Somewhere in the middle: a Gateway

The She-Demon’s anatomy: Part 1

Writing at Easter

April 11th, 2009 by User Imageadmin (Who am I?)

I don’t know about you, but I always write better (or at least longer) if I have the opportunity to sit down with a nice snack and relax for a while without any pressing matters to attend.

Easter is wonderful for this. Chocolates and free time are highly conductive for writing.

However, sitting around writing and eating chocolate isn’t that great for the waistline, even if it is good for the soul.

So walking around the neighbourhood listening to my ipod for inspiration doesn’t seem like a bad idea either.

Hopefully I’ll get something creative done while I have the chance. This semester I’ve had basically one assignment a week, and referenced writing always takes more time and effort. I can’t make things up and hope that a good description will let me pass if I can’t prove it’s real.

Fortunately, fiction doesn’t have that restriction.

So give thanks to the Anglo-Saxon goddess Eostre, eat her eggs and hares, welcome the spring (if you’re up North anyway) and write something.

One year with associated content

February 12th, 2009 by User Imageadmin (Who am I?)

associated content payments

It’s been roughly a year since I started earning money from Associated Content, a website which pays you for articles you submit.

Basically if you’re not a Us citizen (like me) you get paid for pageviews. If you’re a Us citizen you get paid upfront for the article too. Unfortunately I miss out on that form of income, but the pageviews still send me some money every month.

The thing is, the pageviews from articles I submitted long ago in last January still earn me money, providing I remember to log into the site at least once a month. For ~ $5 each month, that’s not a lot of effort. All the effort was over and done with months ago.

I could consider writing some more, or promoting what I have, but at the moment I’m just too lazy.

So, there’s a bit of proof or earnings. Not lots of earnings, but a nice little one for minimum effort. Honestly it compares well to my adsense.
