It’s been roughly a year since I started earning money from Associated Content, a website which pays you for articles you submit.
Basically if you’re not a Us citizen (like me) you get paid for pageviews. If you’re a Us citizen you get paid upfront for the article too. Unfortunately I miss out on that form of income, but the pageviews still send me some money every month.
The thing is, the pageviews from articles I submitted long ago in last January still earn me money, providing I remember to log into the site at least once a month. For ~ $5 each month, that’s not a lot of effort. All the effort was over and done with months ago.
I could consider writing some more, or promoting what I have, but at the moment I’m just too lazy.
So, there’s a bit of proof or earnings. Not lots of earnings, but a nice little one for minimum effort. Honestly it compares well to my adsense.

In an effort to introduce more variety to the literary/fantasy blogosphere, he’s a few more fantasy and book themes for wordpress. Stop using the same ones as everyone else- I get confused about which blog I’m reading and it’s not original. There are much brighter, better themes out there.
Here are links to ten themes that I’d consider using myself. As I discover more themes I may be doing a post like this regularly.
- ‘Early News ‘theme from Place of Template suits a writing blog. It’s clean, easy to read and is reminiscent of my desk, complete with snacks, coffee stain and strewn paper. While only one sidebar, it should be wide enough to fit most things you desire.
- ‘Elise‘ is a beautiful and mystical theme to suit a Fantasy- themes blog. I’m not such a fan of the sidebar, but a lot of people seem to like that style. Again, easy to read text in the blog posts. The block quotes look quite clean too.
- ‘Astro‘ is a bit fancier, and although it’s text is mainly light over a dark background, still reasonable to read. The links at the top of the page are almost invisible though, which is a small flaw.
- ‘Fleeting Love’ is more papery, and the font is smaller. This would probably suit a poetry blog better.
- ‘Lady Unicorn’ is (as you might have guessed) Fantasy themed. I’m not a huge fan of the header, but the blog posts are probably the best set out, and easiest on the eyes.
- “Old Apartment” Isn’t strictly bookish or Fantasy, but could still suit a writing blog with its antique feel. Three columns for those of you who obsess about that feature.
- ‘Floralicious‘ is a plainer theme, with a paper look. It is a bit feminine, but very simple and not at all garish.
- ‘Fabel’ is a relatively new theme from a different site. It’s subtle, and a bit abstract, but will draw more focus to your writing them your theme.
- ‘Vectorise’ is most definitely ‘book-ish’, bright, colourful and uplifting to look at.
- ‘Leaving’ has beautifully set out text and a lovely header, but it doesn’t perfectly suit what I write. It would probably suit a blog with more abstract writings. Like taking a balloon to the moon.

~willow~ - it’s all a matter of perspective… - …where a young girl knocks a new perspective into an otherwise downcast boy on a bright autumn day…
